Description
The plains of Castelluccio di Norcia, famous for the spectacular flowering of lentils, are one of the most fascinating places in the Sibillini Mountains National Park. Hikes in this area offer breathtaking views, routes through fields of flowers and mountain views.
The excursion starts directly from the village of Castelluccio di Norcia, located at approximately 1,452 meters above sea level.
Length: The route is approximately 8 km.
Duration: About 3 hours, depending on pace and stops.
Difficulty: easy/moderate.
Description of the Route
Departure from Castelluccio: The village of Castelluccio is an excellent starting point for exploring the surrounding plains.
Piano Grande, Piano Piccolo and Pian Perduto: The Piani di Castelluccio are divided into three main areas: Il Piano Grande, Il Piano Piccolo and Il Piano Perduto. Each area offers a different and unique landscape.
Flowering: During the months of May and June, the floors are covered in wild flowers, creating an incredible mosaic of colours. It is the best time to visit the area.
Children aged 9 and over.
Dogs on a leash are allowed.
